Sigma first appeared as the primary antagonist of the first game in the series, launching his first attack against the Blue Bomber, Zero. During the battle between Zero and Sigma, Zero's soul cube was fused with the Sigma Gravity Wave. This created a strange new weapon, which Zero used to defeat Sigma, destroying the villain for good. He would reappear as a recurring villain in several games, and was the primary antagonist in most of them. He was destroyed many times, but would always return. In the unrated Mega Man X8 version, an unknown entity called the Builders, who they tell us are the original creators of the world medium, bring Sigma back in its true form, but he is defeated by Zero first, sealing him inside the Sigma Virus for good. In the second unrated Mega Man X game, Zero eventually discovers this reality centric Sigma Virus Infinite and destroys it with a massive Quantum Cannon.
PSX Sigma is a playable character from the PlayStation version of the game. He is installed in the first Sigma's body and retains the arm cannon of his first form. The differences are twofold: firstly, he can use a special Teleport variation that also automatically teleports Sigma's opponents into the distance, and secondly, he can shoot a beam named the Optimizer Beam. This beam allows Sigma to stumble opponents and then kick them.
Boiler Blade (, Kongai Tamagurasana): A normal blade that Sigma carries that shoots exploding bullets from its inner blade. It can be thrown, but its ambitus is very limited and it cannot be thrown far. d2c66b5586
