Outside of the Klassic Towers, there is a certain glitch in Mortal Kombat 9 that you can use to unlock the alternate costumes for Reptile and Sub-Zero. You will need to have them on, then you can destroy the Super move boxes. When fighting Reptile finish the cage, and Sub-Zero will jump in to fight. Reptile will have his Reptile Fury, Sub-Zero will have his Super Armor, and it will be used. After you fight them you will need to save within in the PC arena. Once you have defeated them, Reptile and Sub-Zero will come to fight again, and after that if you defeat the characters without using the glitch, the newer costumes will activate. However Reptile is the same as his original costume without the glitch, and Sub-Zero will get some Deathmatch costumes.
There are two special costumes for Kitana (one in every DLC pack) that are not found in the Klassic Towers. In the Klassic pack she has a canal outfit (looks like the Female Sonja from Mortal Kombat X, but with an installed hair piece), and a green skin. They can be found in the Krypt in the DLC pack. In the fight-yourself-to-death DLC pack there is a Sub-Zero skin that is exclusive for the Female version.
The costumes (except for the secret ones) can be purchased using the in-game currency, "Reptile Tokens," which are earned by playing the game. Once you have enough Reptile Tokens, they can be used to purchase any of the different costumes, ranging from colors (extra of the same color), gender and sizes (you can change the characters hair length, which seems small in the game, and it is possible, but very difficult, to change their old designs).[88] Beginners can simply buy costumes they want, while more intermediate players can buy "fusions," which change a character to a design from another book in the series, and for that you need as many tokens as there are costumes you want to fuse into the same character. d2c66b5586
