VScodePrint 2017 hangs. I believe that PrintCode is for VisualStudio CODE, which i think is different from the Visual Studio 2017 that I am using , is that correct ? At least VS2017 in not offering PrintCode as an install option . Please correct me if i am mistaken ..
It's open source so I looked at the code and didn't like that either. No programmer ever likes another's coding style. So I pinched the idea of using a web-browser as platform driver for HTML printing -- my hat is off to the PrintCode author for that cunning insight -- and wrote my own.
I have modified the =pdconsec.vscode-print. If you change the values that I have marked in the picture in the extension settings a browser tab opens with the you can then print this also works on the Ipad. It works also with the code-server Version inside a Docker Container.I put the file on github -print
We are pleased to announce the availability of Color Printing as a free extension for Visual Studio 2010! By default, VS 2010 prints only in black and white; this extension restores support for printing code in color.
I was wondering if there is any export function inside Visual Studio Ultimate (2010) to get a chosen tab (by default a single class) of C# code exported into a PDF file, so you can share that PDF file and show someone the code, with the formatting and colors of Visual Studio? I'm sending the PDF with sample code for an application, that's how I came to this question.
I know that I could copy the code into Word in a textbox, that works fine and keeps colors + formatting. I am just interested if there is an option in Visual Studio too? It's not important, just want to know. ;-)
There is now a Visual Studio Code Marketplace extension called Print that allows you to print formatted code and brings up the system dialogue for printing the file. It nicely adds the button for printing to the existing GUI in an intuitive way.
I'll admit that personally I've never had a need in all my professional life to print code from Visual Studio but I know a few devs and project managers that do. I suppose it can be handy when you want to view something offline or hand out code samples for a meeting.
It turns out that the ability to print is currently not an option in the latest version of VS Code for whatever reason. My first port of call was to search the online extensions. This is where I stumbled onto the excellent printcode.launchaco.com print extension.
To explain the Tree View API, we are going to build a sample extension called Node Dependencies. This extension will use a treeview to display all Node.js dependencies in the current folder. The steps for adding a treeview are to contribute the treeview in your package.json, create a TreeDataProvider, and register the TreeDataProvider. You can find the complete source code of this sample extension in the tree-view-sample in the vscode-extension-samples GitHub repository.
In this article, we learn how to copy from Visual Studio Code with color syntax highlighting to various other applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and Gmail to achieve beautiful, clear code samples for documentation, presentations, and general communication. This will prove useful whether you are using JavaScript, JSON, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, Markdown, C++, Java, PHP, Python, Go, T-SQL, XML, C# or a host of other languages and data formats that Visual Studio Code supports.
There is a better alternative, Insert > Object > OpenDocument Text or something like this. This will open a new window that we will paste our code, which we can have our own formatting rules that are not affected by parent document (color, font, etc). Also there is no grammar highlighting
The debugger breaks into your code on unhandled exceptions. However, handled exceptions (such as exceptions that occur within a try/catch block) can also be a source of bugs and you may want to investigate when they occur. You can configure the debugger to break into code for handled exceptions as well by configuring options in the Exception Settings dialog box. Open this dialog box by choosing Debug > Windows > Exception Settings.
To repin a floating data tip to source, hover over it in the code editor and select the pushpin icon. The pushpin icon changes to the pinned position, and the data tip is again pinned only to the code window.
If a data tip is floating over a non-source code window, the pushpin icon is unavailable, and the data tip cannot be repinned. To access the pushpin icon, return the data tip to the code editor window by dragging it or giving the code window focus.
It is an opinionated code formatter that enforces a consistent style by parsing your code and re-printing it with its own rules that take the maximum line length into account, wrapping code when necessary. Besides, it supports many languages. It can be integrated with the most editor.
A simple source code spell checker for multiple programming languages. A basic spell checker that works well with camelCase code. The goal of this spell checker is to help catch common spelling errors while keeping the number of false positives low
lint was the name originally given to a particular program that flagged some suspicious and non-portable constructs (likely to be bugs) in C language source code. The term is now applied generically to tools that flag suspicious usage in software written in any computer language.

We can work on SQL scripts without extension as well, but it does not give added functionality to work on T-SQL. In the below image, we see that you do not get different color codes for the database object. It treats the whole script as a regular file.
Formatting code manually is very time-consuming and error-prone.With Prettier, the de-facto standard code formatter of the JavaScript world, you can format your code automatically. You can even configure the Prettier VS Code extension to format the source code when you save it.
With the Bookmarks extension, you can save and label important source code locations and organize them in a sidebar panel. This can be helpful when you are exploring a complex codebase or when you have locations that you return to frequently.
The GitLens extension adds several panels to the source control sidebar and enhances the editor with information overlays. The sidebar panels help you manage branches, stashes, commits, file history, remotes, andthe editor extensions include a blame view, change indications, an authorship code lens, and more.GitLens is an essential extension that makes working with Git in VS Code much easier.
Add the following code where the IDE wont overwrite it (top of main.c?) (the function __io_putchar is what printf uses to send characters to, its weak so we can overwrite it by declaring the function).
